After a heartfelt 1,500 km journey spanning over 20 hours, the dedicated team from Sikh Volunteers Australia has arrived in Taree, New South Wales, to support our fellow Australians affected by the devastating floods.

With our newly equipped mobile kitchen and support vans, we are fully prepared to provide hot meals, relief aid, and compassionate care to communities in need. Our base is now set up at Bunnings Taree, thanks to the kind support of Manager Miki Donohoe.

From here, our volunteers are reaching out daily to evacuation centres, Tinonee Memorial School of Arts, and flood-impacted areas—delivering freshly cooked vegetarian meals, essential supplies, and heartfelt support to affected residents, emergency workers, and local volunteers.

💛 Today’s Menu: Hot vegetarian sandwiches, dal, and rice—served with warmth and love.

Whether you need a meal or just a moment of comfort, we are here for you. If you’re nearby, please visit us at Bunnings Taree and say hello. Together, we will get through this—with unity, strength, and service.

Our outreach extended beyond our Taree service site to include Old Punt Road near the narrow bridge, Post Office Wingham, Baptist Church Wingham, Community Hall Cundletown, Manning Point Bowling Club, Oxley Island, and Kempsey.

This massive effort was only possible because of our incredibly dedicated volunteers, who gave their time, energy, and hearts to serve with compassion and resilience. We extend our sincere apologies to the Oxley Island community for the delay today—we are learning and remain committed to improving tomorrow.

We are profoundly thankful to generous donors from across Australia, especially from Newcastle and Woolgoolga, who stood by SVA like true family in these challenging times.

A special appreciation goes to local champions like Claire Wright, Trudie Hull (BWS business owner), and Peter Moss for going above and beyond in supporting deliveries and waste disposal services.

To the many anonymous heroes working quietly in the background—your silent strength powered today’s success.

With the unwavering spirit of our volunteers and the solidarity of the community, we continue to serve with hope and humility. Together, we stand. Together, we serve.

Wrapping up Day 3 with gratitude and pride!
