Sikh Volunteers Australia strongly condemns the violent attack that occurred in Sydney. Any act of violence against innocent people is wrong, unacceptable, and deeply distressing. There is no justification—moral, religious, or political—for harming those who have no role in conflict.
The teachings of the Sikh Gurus guide us to stand firmly against injustice while upholding compassion, equality, and respect for all humanity. Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji taught us to see the entire world as one family, and Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji reminded us that protecting the innocent and standing for righteousness must never be driven by hatred or revenge.
Condemning violence does not require taking sides or promoting division. It requires a clear moral position: that human life is sacred, and that peace cannot be built through fear or bloodshed. We reject all forms of extremism and hatred, and we stand in solidarity with every community affected by violence.
At this difficult time, we offer our prayers for the victims and their families, and we reaffirm our commitment to service, compassion, and unity. The path forward must be guided by dialogue, understanding, and the shared values that bind us together as one humanity.
