The Sikh Volunteers Australia (SVA) team is committed to providing hot, fresh meals to communities during times of crisis. While our current food truck allows us to cook on-site, we are facing growing challenges with storage and logistics—especially during large-scale disasters.

To meet the increasing demand and ensure faster, more efficient service delivery, we are planning to prepare a new logistics truck. This vehicle will be dedicated to transporting essential supplies, storing ingredients, and supporting our cooking operations during emergencies.

We need your urgent support. As you know, Sikh Volunteers Australia has experienced a significant increase in demand for our disaster relief services over the last little while. We provide free food to the those that need it most. Sometimes in their darkest of hours.

We are currently in mid coast NSW providing freshly cooked vegetarian meals to support the communities affected by the recent flooding and in dire need of help and some tender loving care. We will stay here as long as the communities in NSW require our help.

Over the past 5 days, we’ve provided over 9,500 free meals.

We urgently need a dedicated logistics truck equipped with secure, weatherproof storage. This will ensure that donations are protected and safely stored. Supplies are easy to access and manage. We can respond faster and more efficiently during emergencies

A warm cooked meal on a cold day or night provides nourishment, support and provides comfort to someone doing it really tough. It is more than just the meal, it’s the sense of belonging to a community and by providing this meal to someone in need, it shows them that someone cares for others.
We need to raise $400,000 to prepare this truck. It’s a big amount but it would help us to achieve efficiency in our service.

Just $5 from each and every one of you would get us to our goal. It’s the cost of your next cup of coffee but one that will help us provide more vital meals to those doing it tough.

Please remember to share this post far and wide. We need all the help we can get to reach our target.

“Unfortunately disasters happen when you least expect it and for us to know that we have the ability to help more people. To get on the road quicker, to be able to produce more meals and to be more efficient.”
